The Ultimate Foolproof Plant with Dramatic Dark Beauty

The Black ZZ Plant 'Raven' is a game-changer for anyone who's ever said "I kill every plant I touch." This stunning beauty starts with bright green new growth that gradually transforms into deep, glossy black foliage - creating a living ombre effect that's absolutely mesmerizing. Nearly indestructible and thriving on neglect, the Raven ZZ is your ticket to becoming a successful plant parent without the stress.

Why You'll Love This Plant:

  • Nearly Indestructible - Survives weeks without water, tolerates neglect, and bounces back from almost anything
  • Thrives in Low Light - Perfect for dim corners, offices, or rooms with minimal natural light
  • Dramatic Color Transformation - Watch new bright green growth gradually darken to glossy black over time
  • Air Purifying - Naturally cleanses indoor air while looking stunning
  • Zero Drama - No fussy requirements, no constant attention needed, just easy beauty

Care Instructions

  • Light: Extremely adaptable! Thrives in low light but also tolerates bright indirect light. One of the few plants that truly doesn't mind dark corners.
  • Water: Water only when soil is completely dry, typically every 2-3 weeks. Prefers to be underwatered rather than overwatered. Can survive 4+ weeks without water.
  • Humidity: Tolerates any humidity level - no misting or special care needed.
  • Feeding: Fertilize once every 2-3 months during spring and summer with diluted liquid fertilizer. Honestly, it's optional - this plant thrives on neglect.
  • Temperature: Comfortable in normal household temperatures (60°F-75°F). Very forgiving.
  • Soil: Use well-draining potting mix. Standard houseplant soil works perfectly.

Frequently Asked Questions

  1. Why are the leaves staying green instead of turning black?
New growth emerges bright green and gradually darkens to black over several weeks to months. Be patient - the transformation is part of the magic! Brighter light can speed up the darkening process.
  2. Is this plant toxic to pets?
Yes, ZZ Plants contain calcium oxalate crystals and are toxic if ingested. Keep out of reach of pets and children.
  3. How often should I really water it?
When in doubt, wait! ZZ Plants have thick rhizomes that store water. They're much happier being underwatered than overwatered. Every 2-3 weeks is plenty, and they can easily go a month without water.

Perfect For:

Absolute beginners, busy people, frequent travelers, low-light spaces, offices without windows, anyone who's killed plants before, creating dramatic contrast in plant collections, or as a confidence-building first plant.

Start your plant parent journey with confidence! Each Black ZZ Plant 'Raven' arrives healthy and ready to thrive with minimal effort from you.

Great shoes for the little one taking his/her first steps
Great shoes for the little one taking his/her first steps!! I actually ordered 2 pairs, one for my son in the 12-18 months (even tho he was 10 months old) and a 6-12 month for a friend. The 6-12 month fit my son perfect!! (my son was in a size 5) but I knew they would only last a few weeks so I kept the 12-18 month ones and he started wearing them. He seemed to like them, never tried taking them off and they were easier to walk in than socks but for some reason the top of the foot area is HUGE! They stayed on no problem but lots of wiggle room in the top... He is now running and wears shoes with a thicker sole for the rocks but we still love these for inside when it is too cold to go barefoot. I would say the 12-18 month fit like an average size 6.

Great barefoot option for early walkers!
Size: 12-18 Months Infant, Color: Grey
A moccasin is such a great place to start! Buying barefoot shoes can be hard.. they’re not always the cutest, can be expensive & there’s a lot to pay attention to! We love moccasins as a great first shoe for our boys. Perfect for summer because they’re more like a sandal & let in air flow. Why we love: ✨Meets barefoot-style checklist ✨SUPER inexpensive ✨Quality made & last a long time ✨Lots of style & sizing options ✨Breathable ✨Easy to put on & take off ✨They protect feet all while still giving a sensory experience These ones do run big, so size down. If you’re looking for a shoe that has more grip on the bottom, there are tons of moccasin style shoes with grip as well. Give these a shot if you have a fresh walker on your hands!

Great shoes for first time walkers!
Size: 12-18 Months Infant, Color: Grey, Size: 12-18 Months Infant, Color: Grey
The material is great! My child likes it and hasn’t tried to take them off! They are lightweight and not bulky. Very flexible ! Also I did my research and it’s made in the UK and made with genuine leather! The color is cute as well! Wish they did have more variety here in Amazon but still okay with it!

Cute, soft, comfy
Size: 6-12 Months Infant, Color: Navy
I wanted a leather sole shoe for my ten month old daughter for playing outside this summer so she could have protection for her feet without a hard “supportive” shoe inhibiting her ability to learn to balance or affecting her feet as the bones continue to develop. These are perfect, they are soft and easy to put on. The elastic in the ankle holds it on without being too tight and it doesn’t dig into her skin at all. Provide protection and grip as she learns to walk and are not too bulky at all. I got the 9-12 month size and it has enough room to accommodate a chubbier foot than my daughter has, but still fits well and looks adorable.

Love these
Size: 18-24 Months Infant, Color: Grey
These are awesome! My 15-month old wore these everywhere on our trip to Mexico. He scuffed them up quite a bit, but other than cosmetics, they're holding strong through sand, sprinklers, and general gallivanting around. They are super easy to get on, which also makes them easy for him to pull off. But as long as he's busy running a muck, he forgets they're even on his feet.
